Levitra is an oral drug used to treat erectile dysfunction.
How Taken
Levitra is in the form of a table and is taken orally about an hour before sexual activity. Some kind of sexual stimulation is needed for the occurrence of an erection with Levitra. The drug should be taken once a day with or without food.
Warnings/Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have had or currently have a heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeats, angina (chest pain), or congestive heart failure; high or low blood pressure; if you have a personal or family history of a rare heart condition known as prolongation of the QT interval (long QT syndrome); liver problems or kidney problems; have ever had blood problems, including sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia; have a bleeding or blood clotting disorder; have a stomach ulcer; a family history of degenerative eye disease (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa); or if you have a physical deformity of the penis such as Peyronie\'s disease. If you suffer from any of these diseases, you may not be able to use Remeron or your dose may have to be adjusted, or you may have to be monitored regularly during the treatment. Levitra should not be used by women but it should be considered that this medicine falls into the FDA pregnancy category B which means it is not expected to harm a fetus. It is not clear if Levitra passes into breast milk. Levitra should be used by men only. Patients older than 65 years are more likely to have side effects from the usage of the drug. Your doctor may decide to reduce your dosage.
Missed Dose
Missed doses are not expected because Levitra is taken only when it is needed.
Possible Side Effects
Levitra may cause the following side effects: -Headaches
-Flushing
-Stuffy or runny nose
It is very unlikely, but Levitra cause: an erection that will not go away (priapism). If your erection lasts for more than 4 hours, immediately search for medical help. This condition must be treated right away because otherwise it may cause inability to have erections. You may experience vision changes. For example, you may see a blue tinge to objects or may have difficulties to tell blue colour from green colour. These side effects are not necessary caused by Levitra. Contact your doctor for more information.
Storage
Levitra should be stored at a temperature of 25�C (77�F); fluctuations are allowed up to 15-30�C (59-86�F). Keep Levitra the medicine away from children.
Overdose
In case you suspect an overdose, immediately search for medical help. The symptoms of an overdose with Levitra are not known but they may include chest pain, back pain, dizziness, an irregular heartbeat, abnormal vision, and swelling of the ankles or legs.
More Information
You should not take Levitra in case: -You take any form of medication known as "nitrates" (Type of medicine used to relieve chest pain associated with heart disease). The combined usage of Levitra and nitrates may cause serious side effects.
-You Take medicines called "alpha-blockers" (sometimes prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure). The combined usage of Levitra and alpha-blocker may decrease your blood pressure to an unsafe level.
