Drug Uses
Cleocin T is used for the treatment of acne vulgaris.
How Taken
Cleocin T Topical Solution or a pledget of Cleocin T Topical Solution should be applied on the affected area twice a day. More than one pledget may be used but a pledget is used only once and then it is discarded.
Warnings/Precautions
It is not clear if clindamycin may be excreted in human milk after the usage of Cleocin T. But it is known that orally and parenterally administrated clindamycin passes into breast milk.
Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose, take the missed tablet as soon as you remember. However, if it is already time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and take the regular dose. Do not take a double dose to catch up the missed one.
Possible Side Effects
Oral usage of Cleocin T is reported to cause severe colitis which may be fatal. Topical forms of clindamycin may cause abdominal pain, gastrointestinal disturbances and gram-negative folliculitis.
Storage
Do not use a pledget if the seal is broken and use it only once. Liquid dosage forms should be stored in tightly closed containers and away from children.
Overdose
Sufficient amounts of Cleocin T may produce systemic effects. Immediately search for medical help if you suspect an overdose.
More Information
